i have problems with internet explorer, when i open a second window in explorer the CPU go's 100% and puter locks up, have tried many fixes, no joy.

so i d/l a free browser, ace explorer, and so far it works fine.

i did pick up a trojan a few weeks ago but i cleaned it.

First, get the Microsoft Anti-Spyware beta and run it on your system.  If it finds and fixes anything, then throw a bunch of other stuff at the problem (like AdAware, etc) because they usually come in groups.

I also second Firefox, it's a GREAT browser.

I'm not the most computer liteate in the world.
But Firefox is my browser, Thunderbird is my email client.
Lavasoft anti spyware is my spyware prog.
And I deleted microsoft antispyware, lavasoft finds more stuff than theirs does.
NOD32 is my antivirus.

My neighbor told me that I'm safe enough for what I do.

Once you have FireFox, you'll also want Adblock.

It makes a good browser perfect. SOB pointed it out and he was dead on. It's tits.

Good call. had forgotten about that.

Dont forget "image zoom" too. and  "add Bookmark here"

And Remove It Perminantly is excellent for removing stuff that Adblock won't (mainly content that's local to a particular site) - worked great for removing the upgrade stuff at the top of the overview page in Ogame.

I detest FireFox.  I imagine anyone who has to do any WEB site work would.  IE is only as bad as the person who uses it.

One day the world will decide to stick to standards and all will be well,...Oh..that was suppose to happen with HTML.  Duh.  Hey world!  IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!:furious

Oh yeah, I am going to listen to some numpty reporter hollering, "HEY!  How do I get it out of INSERT mode?"

On the contrary. As near as I can tell, Firefox is quite compliant with W3C standards.

So far I havent had any problems at all with firefox, I used to use Netscape, but thats a major pain when it decides to dump all the bookmarks I had, and I still use IE, but I found firefox to run a little faster.

Firefox is awesome.

Anyone know of any negative reason to not having as many extensions on it as you want?  Are there memory or speed issues?

I love this browser!!!
