They're Back!

Thank the Lord they are back.

That said, what is the possibility of charges being brought against the pilot/crew if it turns out he/they did not follow US security policy and ditch the plane. Seems they are making it impossible to follow that course of action as they as being touted as heroes now.

How they are touted to the public and how they are viewed during promotion review are two totally separate beasts.

If someone screwed up, it will haunt them.

It is also highly unlikly that they were out of radio contact with their superiors. The traitor/idiot responsible for the whole mess is not necessarily one of the crew.

If he didn't follow policy then he should be charged just like anyone else, "hero" be damned.  Double standards are too messy and hypocritical.

Is it true that part of the CNN crew were detained?  Or did they just feel "at home" and decided to stay for awhile?

I'd like to point out that the aircraft may not have been ditched because of several theories:
~With a mission engine, damaged flaps, and the nose of the A/C broke off, a water ditching may have resulted in the loss of the entire crew.  Low speed approaches are a MUST for water ditching, the pilot may have chosen not to risk the lives of 24 due to the feel of his aircraft.

~The aircraft *may*...I said *may*..have been forced down by the Chinese onto that island..the conversation may have been "If you ditch, you will die".

SO before we start talking traitors, and be the judge and jury, lets get some facts out first (and even with that, we may never know the whole story).

Thankfully, this is over. Or has just begun....
