For all you P-38 drivers

Ode To The P-38

                      Oh, Hedy Lamarr is a beautiful gal, and Madeleine Carroll is too,
                      But you'll find if you query, a different theory amongst any bomber
                      crew
                      For the loveliest thing of which one could sing (this side of the pearly
                      gates)
                      Is no blonde or brunette of the Hollywood set -
                      But an escort of P-38s.

                      Yes, in the days that have passed,
                      when the tables were massed with glasses of scotch and
                      champagne,
                      It's quite true that the sight was a thing of delight us,
                      intent on feeling no pain.
                      But no longer the same, nowadays is this game
                      When we head north for Messina Straits
                      Take the sparkling wine-every time,
                      just make mine an escort of P-38s.

                      Byron, Shelley and Keats ran a dozen dead heats
                      Describing the views from the hills,
                      of the valleys in May when the winds gently sway
                      In the air it's a different story;
                      We sweat out our track through the fighters and flak
                      We're willing to split up the glory
                      Well, they wouldn't reject us, so heaven protect us
                      and, until all this shooting abates,
                      Give us courage to fight 'em - one other small item -
                      an escort of P-38s.

                                               — Frederic Arnold, 'Kohn's War.

Love the Ode

This might be On-Topic then for being an Off-Topic forum.

P-38 blank model 2nd to be released.

 http://furball.dogfighter.com/

I put together a easy to read command list in which I gathered info from several different resources:

Warbirds III Paint Viewer Command Guide

KEY GUIDE

T = turns the model
HOME = moves up
END = moves down
PAGE UP = turns head up
PAGE DOWN = turns head down
ARROW UP and DOWN= moves forward and backward
ARROW LEFT and RIGHT = turns head left and right
ARROW LEFT and RIGHT with the SHIFT key = tilts head left and right
SPACEBAR = stops and starts articulation
H = Rolls the ac
J = resets the H key
B = pitches the ac
N = resets the B key
R = resets articulation
A = activates the alpha prop
2 = displays double sided faces
SHIFT = moves in double time
F1 = advances to the next ac in the Viewer dir
Press esc and type damage or base to toggle between the two
EXIT =  Press esc and type exit then enter.
LOAD = Press esc and type load. This will reload the model / textures so you don't have to exit the program to see your changes

OPTIONAL COMMANDS

Night & rain = SHIFT 4 (takes about 4 seconds to go into effect)
Night & snow = hit SHIFT 4 again
Hitting SHIFT 4 a third time will take you back to normal daylight view.

Taking Screenshots:  SHIFT ?  produces the shot,  it places one shot in VIEWER called screencap.tga.

W = displays wire frame
C = toggles clouds
CLS = clears the console
LOAD = reloads the model/textures
QUIT = exits the viewer
SPINNER X = where x is a float (8.0 is default) for prop spin rate
ANIMRATE X = where x is an integer (15 is default) for frames per second on animation playback (landing gear)
LIGHTDIR X Y Z = where x,y,z are floats (-1.0 to 1.0) setting light direction
LIGHTCOL R G B = where r,g,b are integers (0 to 255, default is 255 255 255 for full white) for light color
RGB SCALE RGB = where r,g,b are floats (0.0 to 1.0, default is 1.0 1.0 1.0 for no scaling) to tint the entire screen coloring; values above 1.0 give bizarre results
FOV X = where x is integer degrees times 10 (900 is 90 degrees, default is 650 for 65.0 degrees) for field of view
MPH X = where x is a float (0.0 is default) for the rate to spin gear wheels (negative is allowed for turn backward)

WARNING!

Be careful with rgbscale.. if you enter "rgbscale 0 0 0" you won't be able to see the console... it affects everything processed by the 3D engine, not just the scene.

PS: Remember you have to use a paint program that can view targa files in order to paint the aircrafts surfaces, then apply them to the viewer.
