Run Forest Run
« on: November 03, 2005, 10:35:25 PM »
Lately it seams that 90% of pilots have become timid

I took off in a Yak and chased a guy from sea level to 25,000 ft the other day, I got board and turned back to base, I checked my shoulder and sure enough the PUTZ decided he would try and get me.....

I turned back and nailed him on the first pass.... :D

Its your 14.95 PPL and you can play anyway you want but seriously its getting beyond a joke out there in the MA, I spend half my time chasing LA and 190's and the other half getting gang banged in a 4 on 1.

I dont mind the gang bangs :) but the running (oh please dont hurt me mister :cry  ) is annoying.

So if your running from a Hurricane I, IIC, IID or a Yak and ya see RUN FOREST RUN on 200 then its poor old me trying to nail your prettythang.

BTW for those of you who dont get it check out this film.

Real Men Dont Extend 421kb in AHF Format

A Big to LYNX on this one (why do I always get a good guns solution when my guns are dry)

End RANT

Pony+Run=Get La7 out of the Hanger and run him down. Then turn with spitv's and a6m's and kill them too. All at the same time.

I feel sorry for those that feel the need to up a LA7 to compete with a group.  You are no better than the gangbangers.  It's called an excuse.  Grow up peeps.

I just like to tick people off by flying it. Its uber and people like you whine when they die to it.

What do I have to prove to anyone? Why should I fly something I dont think is fun to fly? I try to fly them all to enjoy the game from every angle. To see what each fighter can do. I've done that from day one, I wont stop flying a certain plane because someone else doesnt think its a noble plane to fly.

I wasn't actually talking about you Morph.

You are an arse sometimes, but then again, everyone can/will be sometime in their life.  I've accepted that and don't feel the need to continue to state it.  So, just ignore that last post by me morph.

i see you've seen the light and put that easy-mode spitV back into the garage.  but won't you get kicked out of the BK's for non-compliance with the mandatory spitV code?

What really gets me is when you chase an LA or Pony across an entire sector as they run from you...and when you turn off to actually fight someone they turn back into you...ofcourse they always lose...just dweeby

FW's and tiffs are just as, if not more,  guilty of this than ponys or la's.  and neither are slouches in the speed dept.

Mmmm yeah, runners ruin my night.  I tend to pull a 360 and fight from there, once they see a 180 they think "ooooh goody!" and turn back to fight (sometimes not always).  Others lose the vulch and run to ack.

Anyone who stays and triesto fight in a turnfight for an extended period of time while in a FW,Tiffy, or pony against a turnfighter AKA Spit, 109,NIKI,KI84 etc is either very good or very stupid. Sometimes both.

Of coarse he is going to run if for no other reason then to try and get some E Back. Now if your chasing him and he is less then say 1500 out from you. with you on his 6 he would be foolish to try to turn and fight as the moment he tries to do anbout face your going to be all over him and even if you do miss because of the hard turns he is going to have to make he will be right back to where he started E wise when he started running to begin with and will simply be looking to extend again to try and get E back again.

You want him to stay and fight. The answer is simple. Dont chase him.
He'll come back.

Why dont you run after a dog if you want to catch him?
Simple, Because the dog will just keep on running.

"Master doesnt chase pet.
Pet comes to master"

Any of those planes can turnfight for a few turns with a typical turnfighter.
But the longer the turnfight goes on the more in favor of the turnfighter the fight becomes.
If he's smart he realises this and looks to extend so as to get some E back with which to fight. Otherwise barring you making some sort of major mistake its only a matter of time before he gets into such a disadvantage that he inevitably becomes an easy kill.
So knowing this, why would he contunue to play to the strangths of his opponent? Thats foolish. So he runs and you chase after him and wont turn around till you've given up and turned away yourself
Well Duh.
He does that because now he has the seperation he needs to be able to turn around and come back and reingage and still have some E to play with.

He's not flying dweebish. Hes flying smart and to the strengths of HIS aircraft and not to the strengths of yours.
If hes going to play to the strangths of your he just might as well just sit on a runway and let you vulch him.

Getting him to come back is easy enough.
Just feign like your turning away by doing a slow gradual climbing turn but dont completly turn around. keep him on your 9:00 or 3:00 position and keep an eye on his icon. He will think you've broken off. When you see him turn around, head back at him time your turn to his flyby and nail him.
By chasing him all your doing is causing him to do the one thing you dont want. Him running away

thee really isnt much of an excuse for the lala running as it turnfights fairly well even at slow speeds and can regain E in almost an instant.

but I cant blame any FW,Pony or tiffy driver for trying to extend and get some seperation once they have gotten slow. Unless. they are going up against another FW,pony or tiffy

Good Posts Dred

I find that "Faking" a turn away can often lure a runner into reversing back,
cause when he see's that distance counter drop quick, he thinks your turning away, but you really just turn a bit,,,,then back on heading

you also get a good preview of what type of opponent you have by what BFM he uses to come back

Now what if he doesnt come back,is he runnin away cause he scared to fight?
I doubt it
Maybe he's damaged already, Maybe he got a job done and is satisfied with RTBing, Maybe there are 2 more cons behind you chasin him too,
maybe he doesnt like the AC matchup and lives to fight another day.

Some players like to play this game and try and stay virtualy alive
as much as possible, kinda like how many may fly in scenarios.
Im not one of em, but i do respect that style of playing.
