I know this isnt the first time, but it would be so usefull and fun if we could pick up bailed and ditched squadmates if they were behind enemy lines.
a few days ago myself and a squadmate flew a long and exceiting P51 mission gaining a few kills each. on the return journey we got hit by flak over the big City depot and my wingman lost a wingtip. he nursed it down to the edge of the city and i touched down and landed right next to him.
he bailed and walked over to me then towered. I took off with a 109 a 4k icon vis coming right for me and had to hide low down behind a ridge of trees untill he went by not more than 3k above our heads.
with the canopy open it would certainly be possible to fit two men even in a small fighter like the P51 cockpit and fly 12 miles on the deck to your base.
in an IL2 or SBD, you would gain a gunner.
all that would be the rule is you must bail out of your plane/GV and get to a close distance from a stationary a/c that could realisticly carry you.
in an IL2 the performance with 2 people would be very similar. in a P51 the performance and your ability to use the controls would be very limited with another body in there so maybe just limit it to the 2 seaters and GVs that can pick people up.
please consider it HTC, it would be more of an improvement than the pistol.
