Why the spit wings rip off
« on: November 11, 2005, 11:34:22 AM »
I took a spit up to 10k and made a shallow power dive. I then pulled up smoothly but quickly. [EDIT: This was about 300-320mph] Before I even began blacking out my G-meter snap-pegged at 8Gs and my wings ripped off. I never fully blacked out, I just got tunnel vision really fast.

It's like you get full low speed deflection all the time. There's instant input from the flight surfaces, and no wind resistance (from the speed) softening the response time.

That's why the wings are snapping off.
