Invisble GVs?
« on: December 01, 2005, 05:51:58 PM »
Ive had a few times in tank town where i can see the enemy GV from the pintle gun....but zoom in with the turrent and nada.

I have a screenshot at home, one of the guys got the guy smoking.  All i see is an invisible vehicle trailing smoke.

This just me?

still think ack and gv's should not be tied into the AH video setup.

it PUNISHES those that have med. to low end systems.

why punish 1/2 your player base?

should be level, even playing field for all.  (or as much as possible)

I played a majorirty of yesterday in tank town. I saw alot of weird stuff.  I saw guys firing through hills and buildings, disappearing and reappearing.  I even saw panzers that were darn near impossible to kill, yes I said panzers this time. I also saw the bullets going through the tank with no hit sprite. One more thing the spawn points choose when there're going to be random, meaning spawning in the same dang place 5 times before switching to a new location 2 feet away. Its not the same with every spawn point  some seem to spawn in about a 2k area while others basicly keep you in the same spot.

ROFL ... From the pic, it's not to hard to figure out...

The GV that's smoking is in a gully. Smoke comes from the top of the GV and it's just below your point of view.

Switch your view to "Ground Mode"

also.. i've noticed when flying I can sometimes spot nme/friendly GV Icons from one view, yet not another.

for example.

I wil be looking in my forward left view, see a gv icon, then switch to say my left view.  The views are overlapping, and I am unable to see the icon with left view.

I can switch back/forth at will, and it will appear, diasappear, appear....disappear.

not sure 'bout film, but got screen shot's of it.

maybe film.

(still thinks it needs to be lvl playing field and EVERYBODY get's to spot gv's from the same ranges)

Well i hear your point...but then again, GVs are in the weeds...icons would just make it a turkey shoot.
