Oh those would be nice. Instead of ParaTroopers with carring the Colt 45. we can have Marines carring M1 Garands, or Springfield rifles which the marines used at the start of the war tell like late 42 to 43, cuz i say something on the history channel about D-Days in the Pacific and the Marines didn't get much supplies of M1s, so many of them still used Springfields, but yes Higins Boat would be awsome.

Think something like this LCM (Landing Craft Medium) might be more practical than the LCVP and far more easy to make up than a LST (from another thread below this one in the "Wishlist Thread").

NOTE: M4 Sherman Tank aboard.

At 56' in length by 14' in beam, The LCM could carry one Sherman Tank or one Half-track or one armored car or 80 troops. Landing either vehicles, troops or cargo would make it much more versitile in game play terms than the LCVP.

I got a good idea that might add the LCM or Higins Boat to AH.

first off some people will say theres no need for landing craft cuz bases arent close to shores, and the troops wont be in range to move to the map room. But I have an idea.

1. For example if we had a LCM with 80 troops on board, these would be Marine troops, when u land on the beach, and drop all 80 of them, they run threw the woods to there objective, even if its like 10 miles away. Think 1 boat = 80 troops running to a base, 2 boats = 160 troops running to a base and 3 boats would = 240 troops running to a base.

2. These troops wont just run in 1 line. They will break up maybe in groups of 5 or 10 and split up, but they will all run to 1 base. Think some will be killed by bombs, tanks, strafing runs so the defenders might have a chance.

3.This would be realistic, cuz u got guys running threw the woods trying to capture a base. So you have all these guys running 10 or 25 miles to 1 base. If u had 240 guys probley 50 will get killed by the first 10 miles. This would be like real war. So instead of having C47s or M3s droping 10 troops that run in 1 line and get killed so easly, u have hundreds of Marines running across land. and maybe u can get points for killing troops, but like low credits. Now u dont have to just kill tanks, know u can hope into a M8 or T34 and battle ground troops for points.

Just think how cool this would be. Playing this in ToD or Special Event server. This to me would add great realism to Aces High.

Maybe the troops can shoot, like at AA guns to defend themselfs. But it would be hard to kill the AA guns for the Marines. Or shoot at town buildings if there still up.

What u think?

Ground war in general would be a good addition. Have enemy troops to defend against the invaders.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

In this case, the troop-amount required of destroying the map room should be increased to about 20.

And the C-47 should be able to carry it's actual loadout, not just 10 troops!

I like the idea of the running marines alot, gives us something to strafe at!
Problem might be low fps due to 200+ marines jumping across your screen!

Might be nice to be able to land vehicles from an LVT too. Send an actual 'invasion force' out with Tanks, halftracks and troops all together, would be a very cool way to plan missions and add a new wrinkle to base captures.

Maybe institute a few cargo ships into CV groups capable of launching LVTs, and keep the LCTs and PT boats linked to the Carrier and Cruiser.
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

Cargo ships would be great, badly-defended/armored would make great targets (finally some usage for the torp!)

Yes, two .50 cal. machine guns - one mounted on pedestals each side of the pilot house aft.

As for the problems with the the FPS of so many troops running around - no need to set it as high as 80 troops - could just be 20 or 30 just to show it carried more troops than the LVT's we have. The LCM's main asset would be to land vehicles close to the target - "including" a M3 Halftrack with 10 troops that wouldn't have to drive as far overland to make it to target.

Another thing would be they could drop large ammounts of cargo on a beach for the attacking forces to use in an attack. Either Vehicle supplies for the forces to use in an attack or Base supplies that vehicles such as the M3 or LVT could pick up there and trasfer to a just captured base to bring it back online.
