Canada blames its escalating gun violance problem on the United States

http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/americas/12/27/canada.crime.ap/index.html

Canada has problems alright but blaming the US for them is not going to solve any problem.

I think too much liberal socialism is finally catching up to you kanooks.

Good luck with the gun bans and heroin give aways :cry

PS I love Canada :D

Did the spoon make Rosie O'Donnell fat? No.

Again, nature vs. nurture. The problem is right under their noses, yet they choose (Gov't and parents) to ignore it and blame someone else....a socialists and liberals trademark behavior.

Why can't Canada just blame Canada?, it what we Americans do.

Seriously though, guns don't kill people, postal workers do.

It amuses me that with all that's going on in your country that any of you have time or the level of hypocracy to criticize anyone;)

Long time lurk mode off

Lets be honest xrtoronto, They are right and its pathetic that we as Canadian citizens continue to put up with the garbage that we call politicians.
NDP, Liberal and Conservative policy is to cheat, lie and steal and blame anyone other than themselves for problems that arise due to their incompetence.
Handing out lenient sentences for serious and violent crimes is the Canadian way.
Ban the banned handguns and blame the Americans for our gang related problems. Typical of our inept and useless leaders.

I recall a time when the only thing the authorities needed to do to control fun loving rambunctous canadians was to ask them to stop.  these people committing these crimes are neither canadian nor american.  the problem there in canada is that since no one can legally shoot back and there is no fear of prosecution the criminal element is emboldened. add immigrants that don't consider themselves "canadian" in a country that is already largely ethnically divided into the mix and you have a built in potential social powder keg.  I know this may sound nuts to you northern friends but the solution to the problem might just be massive canadian membership in the national rifle association and the start to implementation of a bill of rights for canadians including a strong right for law abiding citizens to bear arms. then perhaps you would have the numbers and the momentum to promote and implement "shall issue" legislation, bring back capital punishment, introduce stiff penalties including long sentances for first time firearm offenders and watch the problem evaporate from the cities at large.  you have the problem already it won't go away on it's own and will likely worsen with time and additional immigrants from the third world.  the national rifle association's telephone number for membership inquiries 1-877-672-2000 take back your freedom.

Not to worry, they are going to solve their gun violence by makeing it illegal to shoot people with weapons that were brought in across the border. It will only be legal to shoot people with domestic firearms. That way they won't have crime exported from the U.S. What a brilliant concept, no crime.

Well said Sirloin!

Oh for crying out loud politicians and other opportunist on both sides of the border blame the other country for anything and everything.

Let's face it...the only reason we don't gang up and blame everything on Mexico is because they just dont give a crap.

Stop listening to the idiots and ask a regular Canadian what they think once and a while. You'll get a much different perspective as long as you are talking to an educated and self aware citizen and not some dink with a chip on his or her shoulder.

I for one am proud to have lived and worked among Americans and although our relationship is not perfect I certainly don't blame our troubles solely on the US. We are captains of our own destiny even if the river we sail down flow south to north in many cases;)

And btw...it's Canuck;)

HH
