VOX settings

I have a head set with a mic built into it and I can't get it to work in the game.  The headset works just fine in windows but not with the game.  What should the settings be at so it works?

If you changed anything, unchange it. Default settings will work. Go into your volume control and go Options>Properties, select "Recording" and make sure that "Microphone" is checked. When the control changes, check that "Mute" isn't checked. Also, click "Advanced," check the Mic Boost box if it isn't checked. On some SoundBlaster cards, the mic boost shuts itself off. Uncheck the box, hit OK, and recheck it to be sure.

I have the Audigy 2zs sound blaster card, and that doesn't work for me.  I have to uncheck the microphone, and check the "Aux Line 2" box (IIRC) in the Sound/Audio settings area, or my mike won't work correctly.

If I plug it in the slots on theback of the machine, everything works normally, but I like putting it in the front so I can control the volume easily.

The Audigy 2ZS doesn't support front panels without extra hardware from Creative...don't tell me you paid for that thing...
Yes, I have one in my machine right now. I did research on the front panel capability and found myself bummed at the fact that it can't be done without modifying the card.

SKjohns situation sounds like the front panel ports got plugged into the wrong pins on the motherboard or the sound card depending on config when it was built  more than anything IMHO.

Was using a new key board and the function key wasn't turned on.  use to the ones with a combination key stroke to turn them off. :D
