Fscott, in words you are correct. In reality you are using "here" only as a safe base to post such baloney.

Its time some people stopped being part of the problem.

CRS released some buggy software because they were trying to meet deadlines... and look at the feedback.

CRS holds off on releasing a patch to fix some bugs and look at the feedback.

Damned if you do... damned if you don't.

That is untrue!!!! No where did they say the patch would be out this week.  They said "soon"  and "close" but never did they lock them selves into any particular day or week.  They've been doing this too long to make that kind of error.

They have stated that their first priority is to get the people in the game who cannot get in yet.  This patch should addresss that, but they found a bigger bug w/ the patch that could have / would have caused more problems than it would have fixxed so they delayed it.  Smart thing in my book, they're going to get squeaked at for what ever they do so they might as well take the lesser ammount of squeakes.

Funny/sad thing is they did exactly what the community demanded they did and gave updates on the progress and kept the community informed and now they're lambasted even more for being honest.  Bunch of damn women in that community i think.  Can't make up their minds what they want...

Welp, I haven't played since the day it went on the stores.  I probably will play again some day, maybe in 6 months, maybe a year.  When they get somewhere in the neighborhood of "almost finished".  If they'd held the public release to finish the product, I'd probably have bought a copy.  If I had bought this, I'd want them holding the release of the patch until issues with it are corrected, lest you see a repeat of the game's initial release.

If it weren't for all of the pre release hype perpetuated by the CRS guys then you might be right Dejavu.
But given the neck deep roadkill and almost criminally false picture presented to the people waiting  for this I for one say the Rats deserve what they have earned and more.

Whether it was the Sewer news reports, thier own reports on how E3 was, calling 'Lum the Mad' a liar or reading DocDooms fantastic portrayals of how realistic WW2O felt, how amazingly advanced the software was and how much fun the game was BEFORE the first patch

CRS had a full blown PR machine cranking "it" out, now they can sit there let "it" get cranked right back at them.

The problem is NOT the community. It's the company.  CRS is simply reaping what they've sown. And fwiw, they built that community. It just didn't appear on thier door step all abandoned like.

Why CRS didn't just release another quick patch to fix FR and CTD issues instead of taking a month to release a patch with fixes PLUS new stuff is beyond me.

Check out http://www.hq.wwiionline.com/wwii60.mp3  , it's hilarious. (1.4MB)

All you have to do is try to wade through the WWIIOL "Gameplay Forum" for a few nights between 8pm EST and midnight EST to see what a great community AH has.

Regardless of what CRS has done to anyone, the most vocal minority over there give the community a bad rep.  I hope AH *never* appeals to that kind of "player".

Dunno westy...

I've not read any of the stuff you are talking about from anyone at CRS and I have read more than a fair share of WW2OL hype...  Mostly from people posting in this thread.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!  That's too funny!! Who made it?  I loved the reference to The Desk (tm) and the corporate electro shock therapy!

And at least these guys still have a since of humor and hosted it on their site...

The Desk (tm) was a thread that was started over a year ago on the ww2 online website, it's gone now.  It had over 2000 worthless posts in it at one point.  It was a thread that everybody wanted to add to again and again.
