Incidentally, your "Seacat" is the F4F-3S Wildcatfish.

I can't remember the Japanese designation of the float Zeke, but the American codename was "Rufe."

I think the PBY would be the better and more practical place to start with float planes and flying boats.

Oh! I thought of another (historical) way to use her: Pilot rescue!

Say you get shot down and decide to bail rather than take the death. Well, right now if you're in enemy territory you can either walk home or take the capture. But wait! What's that? A PBY! Give players a "flare" gun as well as the .45 (say, make it selectable for primary fire) when on the ground to call in the Cat, and all you have to do is climb on board, allowing you to tower out as a "bailed" in friendly territory, or add a new condition of "Rescued." That could even be a special stat to track for pilots, the number of downed friendlies they've picked up on the ground (see something like, SYSTEM: So-and-so landed 15 rescues in a PBY-5A).
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Better yet, LyeEL landed 16 kills in a LA7. The PBY plus the 15 guys rescued. :t

Not that it would ever live long enough in a combat zone to pick up the 15 guys who want to do nothing but float around for hours to see if maybe somebody would pick them up.

i dont got enough perkies as it is and i like upen my lancs to kill 1 dang t 34 or wirble its fun droping 42 bombs

Bring the PBY to AH. I'd fly it any where. It would be good for TOD in pacific or Europe for finding CV groups or Cargo ships, or if we do get them, Subs. PBY was used to destroyed submarines, and when they werent they where picking up bailed out pilots in the pacific. We could use the PBY to pick up down pilots in TOD, so they don't have to restart, or what every happens when they die, or get captured. I could see planes like the PBY for a good use in TOD or Special event arenas.

It did carry enough ammo to destroy a PT or  a M-3 and a M-16
Armament:       two .50 cal machine guns
                three .30 cal machine guns
up to 4,000 lbs. of bombs or depth charges

The link Raider posted. Some guy railing against the uselessness of the PBY, and how it'd "Blow the lid off immersion" to have a PBY up scouting for CVs.

Before HTC adds the Pby the weather effect of heavy cloud cover should be added so the Pby can hide in the clouds and configure it so when the Pby is in the clouds it's icon won't appear to the enemy
