No 1.04 ? Blow off some steam...
« on: September 07, 2000, 08:40:00 PM »
I've been bugging the Fat Drunk Bastards all week about this software since I bought it and it's worth noting here. It's called Beach Head 2000.

If you are stressed out enough on AH to be screaming insults at yer monitor, smashing your $200 joystick, whining at every higher alt plane, making a excuse everytime your shot down, or the like, go drop $20 on Beach Head 2000 and blow off some steam.

What is it?

Well, the dumbest game I ever saw. Imagine Saving Private Ryan but your in a pill box on the beach. You have a .30mm duel barrel cannon, a 88 type large gun, missles and that's about it. Its 1st person, but you cant walk around. You just sit in your pill box and raise complete hell. The troop ships come in, drop the door, and you absolutley murder them. It's completley mindless and so damn fun! My favorite is when the helicopters bring in troops, and when the start exitiing the back door, you shoot the copter, and its fuel/explosion starts all their heads on fire. Twisted, sick, wonderful fun.

8 beers and this game, you'll be ready for the next 34K 190 stick shaker in no time.

The critcs know it's as bad as deer hunter, and hate it. Screw them, go buy it.

(btw, the 1st person that gets this game, call in a Artillary strike after level 7,  tell me HTC couldnt use those explosion effects for the airfields when your on the ground or in the tower)

Keep outta da light! Keep outta da light!

Personally I have some great Panzer Commander mods that are frikin hilarious.

e.g. 400mm cannon on a 9 ton half track.
The cannon shoots 3000 rps, muzzle velocity of 10,000fps, projectile weight is 20,000 kgs

One burst blew me out of the game. I turned recoil off and made a cool Vulcan gattling gun.

The other thing was to add like 200ft tall treads, and pink King Tigers that launchs what looks like spit wads.

Beach Head 2000 is actually a remake & joining of a REALLY old series of games for the Commodore C-64 computers. They only pumped up the graphics to "modern" standards, joined Beach Head I, II and III in the same package to make Beach Head 2000.

And its still DAMN FUN. Loved it then, love it now.

Though Beach Head 3 (C-64) had a part where you had a knife-throwing fight with several dozen soldiers... I miss that one hehe.

Mine is from a C64 emulator for PC I downloaded.  Haven't used it too much so I don't know about the crashing problems, I'm still trying to figure out the controls for most of the games.  Choplifter works great though...
