Actually not true.

I think there is at least 1 one that needs to jbe judged (to keep people from getting killed) that nowbody can really argue is a sport. Though not in the Winter Olympics

Curling Teams are made up of the BEST WHITE Middle class housewives and stay at home dads the GOP has to offer. Cleaning up after 2 year old twins with a penchant for slinging Koolaid all over the floor...can teach you to mop in a hurry. :)

Not argueing that doing a mobius is not difficult.  Its fun to watch.

Watching the trapeze act at a circus is terrific. I just do not consider doing circus tricks should be considered equal to running a 2:08 marathon or lifting a world record weight.

you totally missunderstood my entire point.

Im a hardcore skiier that loves to live in the backcountry and Ive been skiing for 28 of my 31 years... so I know very well what every skiing discipline requires...

The point I was making was that if you say that one sport (curling in this case) isnt physical enough for the olymipcs and get rid of it then next time there will be another sport which aint physical enough. What Im saying is that there are several components to sports and that skill and tactics shouldnt be underated.

Halfpipe and freestyle jump are two extreamly skill based sports yet not very physicaly demanding if you compare to the 50km cross country.

Im pointing this out because you CANT judge sports on only their need of physical exhaustion.

Curling requires a crap load of skill, tactics and mental strength.

Halfpipe requires a crap load of skill, body control and mental focus.

Skii jumping requires a crap load of skill, body control and mental focus.

Free style jump requires a crap load of skill, body control and mental focus. (and bindings that dont come off:) )

Cross country requires alot of skill, physical fittnest and tactics.

None is a lesser sport then the other.

And let's not forget vulching...

Synchronized Vulching

Free-Style Vulching

These require patience, timing, several ounces of back pressure on the stick, extensive conditioning & training and hand-eye coordination.

I'll admit that I watched some of the curling this weekend, mostly because I was too tired from playing beach volleyball to roll over and change the channel.  But seriously, my wife did get into it and was trying to follow along with the rules.  Seemed fairly cerebral.

The Olympic sport that I got the biggest charge out of (so far) is the snowboard cross!  Holy crap! :O  They should have snowboardcross races every weekend on tv.  It could fill the slot right before NASACAR coverage starts.

Snowboardcross is da bomb!

Boardercross! Boardercross Boardercross Boardercross!  That's what it's been called for better than 10 years, and now the Olympics come along and think they can change the name to "Snowboardcross" and make it the next curling. :furious  /rant

Both bordercross and skiiercross rocks... I which the later could be added to the games as well..

As for bordercross... one song comes to minde.... Red Hot Chillipeppers... Give it away...Give it away...Give it away...Give it away...now... ;) Christ she must be killing her self now...

Figure skating is another sport that Ive always really enjoyed when it comes to the olympics... very athletic, very skilled and the sport with the best looking female bodies ever... no other female athletes have so fantasticly tuned bodies... Skiiers, skaters, sprinters ect have proportionally too well trained legs... swimmers, rowers, ect have proportionally too well trained upper boddies... mid, long distance runners are too skinney... figure skaters... perfect... ;)
