Rapt,
Go to your control panel. Then gamecontrollers. Then select the stick and go to properties for it. Click on the "Deadzones" tab at the top. Now you'll see the different axis that you can adjust the deadzones on. You can right click in the field of the axis that you want to set and just left click clear deadzones and that will take care of em. Or you can manipulate the sliders to set them to see no grey. The grey denotes the deadzone. The middle sliders are for setting in the middle of the of the axis input and the ones on the ends are for you guessed it at the end of the input. Also note that there is a second option name "link deadzone". With it checked if you move say the right one in the middle of your pitch axis the left one will also move the coresponding amount. With it unchecked you can set each slider individually. Now after that is done. Go into the game. Pull up the clipboard. Go to setup>Joystick>Settings. Here you can set the response for the pitch/roll/rudder/throttle inputs respectively via the sliders. I've got em all the way up across the board for all of the different inputs and the deadband setting set all the way down. You can use that as a baseline and then tweak the deadband and dampening to your liking. You should now notice a great increase in response. Hope it helps.
