Damn..who knew you could get injured at work where all you do is bag groceries? At the Albertson's where I work, the parking lot is a large hill, because the land used to be a drive-in movie theatre. Regularly we (as in me and fellow baggers) must go the the bottom of said hill to fetch stray buggies that are always rolling down there. On one occasion, last Saturday, I had gone down to get a lone buggy. As I was coming back up the hill with it, I can hear a car to my right. Natural instinct took over, and I looked. Here comes this silver Honda Civic, at at least 10 or 15 MPH, well over the 5 MPH speed limit, heading straight for me. I figured he would turn,so I kept walking, watching him. He never even turned. I panicked, and released the buggy and began running. I wasn't fast enough. His right mirror caught me in the side of the stomach. I knew it was the mirrior because I heard it snap shut on impact (a folding mirror). I was knocked to the ground, in a rather large amount of pain. I could not obtain a lisence number from him in my dizziness in the fall. But get this, the driver NEVER stopped, slowed, or even look back. He quickly turned onto Jacksboro Highway and sped off. I made my way back to the store and told my manager. The doctor said I am ok, no broken bones, just a large bruise. He said that if he was going faster, or if his mirror wasn't a folding type (i.e. electric or solid) it could have been worse.
I hate some Texas driver...
