anybody have any notes or suggestions on cleaning the X-45.   I'm on my second one and have been using it for last year or so.

What Eagler said.

I just purchased the X52, and purchased the same "cleaning" policy.  It is well worth the small amount it costs.

I never did have to replace my X45, Airscrew, and I had it for 3 or 4 years.  I just like the feel of the X52 better, otherwise, I'd still be using my X45.

its not so much an issue that something is wrong, it just doesnt feel right.  I've notice lately the stick is kinda sloppy on the base, maybe a few mm's of play there that I dont remember before.  I'm also wondering if somethings wrong because my gunnery is worse than before.   I used this x45 with AH1, and for a very short period after AH2 was released and then I quit.  When I paid attention and took my time I could get at least 10% or better hit rate in fighters in the MA.   I started back up last Nov and I havent really been able to break 7% on my hit percentage in the MA  and in the AvA I go through an entire ammo loudout on the 109F and hurric's and hardly hit anything, something like a 3% hit rate in AvA  and thats trying.  I cant seem to hold a shot steady on target.  I think the stick might need some adjusting to fix some of this and I might revisit my stick settings and see if I knocked something out of wack unintentionally when I was setting up my rudder pedals.

The X-45 is a PAIN to take apart. There's a tiny little wire that's hardly soldered on that connects the bottom of the stick with the top. If that breaks and you don't know how to solder, the throttle stops working.
