You can get dentists in places other than Texas...even England.

Iced Tea...you are giving Texas credit for a drink (Tea) that England brought to the world?  You don't even drink it properly.  Bunch of heathens drinking tea cold.

Football?  That is a British game that Americans stole the name from.

Mexican Food?  Credit should go to Mexico for that methinks.  Sure you can get it in Texas, but they have Taco Bell in the UK by now don't they?

Oktoberfest?  Lol...if you live in England you can take a quick flight to Germany, where the whole thing started.

Kinky Friedman running for Governor.  Dunno who that is.

Piņatas at kids' birthday parties...my son turned 5 on the 22nd.  We had a pinata for the kids to bash.  Hardly something that Texas has exclusive access to.

Boots N Spurs...mmmm play "Cowboy" with those on?  Brokeback style?

Rodeos....okay, this is ONE that you cannot actually find in England.  Never been to one, have no desire to go either.  Lots of Boots N Spurs though I imagine...see above.

Mesquite.  I use Mesquite alot when I BBQ, in Bermuda.  I cannot imagine you can't find it in England.

I'd like an even better thread than this, in which people were allowed to post only if they'd been to both England and Texas.

That would be fine if we were just having a tourist thread.   Best places to eat... things not to miss when in... etc.

Got to be better than the way this one's going to end up, Lazs.

FiltH - no rattlesnakes - LOL - the only poisonous snake in Britain is the viper also known as an adder. I've never seen one, not even a dead one. Only snake I've ever seen in the wild here was a dead grass snake.

Why the thread about two sub-par areas of our globe to live in?  Why not something like "Bermuda or Bahamas" ? :)

FWIW, I'd take England, based on weather alone. I'd rather dress up for the weather than have to go from air conditioned building to air conditioned building to survive the Texas summer atrocious heat.

Unexpected reply from you man.  ;)

I've only been to Bahamas once.  Didn't like it.

Bermuda is better.

To help you decide SOB, I'll tell you that I think the BACON in England is some of the best in the world.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!
