Hey Rip
« on: October 10, 2001, 05:48:00 PM »
I saw your post on another BBS... you know, of the typical "post inflamitory "news" quote then step back and watch the fireworks" variety, of which you are undoubtedly a master.  :)

But here again you're quoting from a totally right wing politically motivated source, WorldNetDaily. I wont even call these types of things news sources because they are not. WorldNetDaily is your basic online book seller, using, uhm, "fitting" news bits as a sort of marketing tool.

But the interesting thing is, you said in your post to be assured that "this comes from a liberal news link".

Now, my first question is, what world are you living on?  :)

All over this site are plastered large ads for books like "Learn the Bible in 24 hours", a WorldNetDaily exclusive autographed book by Bill O'Reilly (Fox News), Matt Drudge links, books on how the communist threat is still very real, protecting your land from big government...

...and I aprticularly love this one:

SPECIAL OFFER
Barbara Olson's 'The Final Days'
New book by late hijack victim exposes Clinton's shocking excesses

Anyways, what gives you the idea that this is a liberal news source? Were you guessing? Mistaken? Trying to mislead?

I doubt very much that you were trying to mislead... And belive me Rip, I'm asking out of complete curiousity here... Are you simply unable to discern from your sources any better than this?

Yeah, that's pretty "Right Wing" stuff all right. You know, all that "Jesus" stuff is pretty "out there" on the lunatic fringe not to mention protecting your Private Property from the money-hungry Liberals in the Government. Ol' Adolph woulda been impressed.

BTW, this Gore character was part of the same Administration that spent bazillions trying to wipe-out Microsoft, and nearly squat on catching Bin Laden and his pals.

But ol' WJC claims he almost caught Bin Laden.  Missed him by that much. I think he was confusing Bin Laden's face with Lewinsky's ass, which is understandable i guess.

And this  same Administration  sold the USA down the river to the ChiCom Army for campaign cash.  Nice to know that the ChiComs's nuclear capability jumped ahead by 40 years in one fell-swoop thanks to Clinton/Gore.

Now back to the "normal", "mainstream" Press from CNN, ABC, NBC, etc., ad nauseum......

Nash:

I may be a "freak", but i ain't stupid.  I guess calling what i consider "Middle-American" values "Right WIng" comes off as kind of arrogant and insulting.  But then, that's you all over, ain't it??

Why  couldn't you have used the term "conservative" instead of the common Left Wing tactic of naming everything you don't agree with as "Right Wing" or "Fascist"???

Now perhaps you understand why i like to paste those of the "Left Wing" with the very same perjorative tactics they use so off-handedly against  those Conservatives  that think the "Left's" ideas,  philosophy, attitude, and "values" have little, or no, merit......

Cabby sniveled:

con·ser·va·tive
Pronunciation:   k&n-'s&r-v&-tiv
TRADITIONAL: marked by moderation or caution  <a conservative estimate> : marked by or relating to traditional norms of taste, elegance, style, or manners  <a conservative suit>

You pretend to be a 'conservative' but I don't see anything in the definition of the word that fits your personal convictions. <or lack of>

Looneys like you give 'conservatives' a bad name.

You make me sick. You have more in common with scum like bin laden than conservatives.

You're right Cabby... I used "right wing"... but I didn't mean to imply any association to it other than right of center. Certainly not fascist. Shoulda used "conservative" though... I know what right wing implies.

But why in the world are YOU of all people asking that I use a term that you may be comfortable with? Hello? I'm reminded of that SNL skit where Martin Short played some guy getting interviewed on 60 minutes..."Is it me?"

Does anybody else see something ironic about this sentence:

"Why couldn't you have used the term "conservative" instead of the common Left Wing tactic of naming everything you don't agree with as "Right Wing" or "Fascist"???""

I agree Kieren, it IS comic gold.  :D

Just what *do* you consider "Middle American" values to be, anyway? It must surely have something to do with geography or middle aged people... because your values are by *no* means middle of the road, and are shared - I'm sorry to say Cabby - by the minority. Hurts don't it?    :D

Anyway, I got no problem with people reading whatever news source they want (knock yourselves out)... though it irks me when people posts these things to be discussed as if they are fact (anyone remember Clinton flying the Vietnam flag over the US' on his visit? Oh what an outrage! Right... if it in fact happened. There are hundreds of these types of posts here). But now to see one of these gems actually attributed to a "liberal news source" when it clearly wasn't is out of bounds I think.

Rip, I got a project for you    :)... The next time you post one of these things, cross reference it with at least one other source then <ghasp> put the issue into your own words. Simply grabbing some crap off of one of these sites and slapping it down here is lame.

Red Ant:

Read the lyrics to "All You Need Is Love" by Lennon/Mcartney.  It is the songwriter's belief that there is  nothing "original", only different ways of doing/saying the same old s***.  A belief which i happen to share.  I understand you are in the Music Business.   You should indeed be familiar with how rare true "originality" is, especially in your line of work........

Weazel:

Go back into your hole......

Nash:

The majority of Americans hold conservative values.  At least for now.  The Welfare State has eroded that foundation somewhat over the years.  That "Liberalism"(or whatever you want to call it)is the majority view is just another falsehood propagated by the usual suspects.....

That was one source where that story was elaborated, it was found on two other web sources and if you study real hard, you can find the paper trail back to it.

What Gore did is 'politics as usual'...but this time it cost 6000 lives indirectly.  Could have happened to a republican in the same situation.  Basically, the moral of the story is, big business is NOT associated with the Republicans alone, the Dems are on the carrot and stick too.

And since your all into bashing Cabby, I will say this about Cabby: He's the "in your face and make you think" type guy that is like the rest of us, may not always be right about his opinions, but they ARE opinions. Most of what Cabby says has merit, the delivery may be "in your face" but I prefer a direct approach rather than beating around the bush trying to make others 'feel good'.

Hey Weazel (Jihad, whatever you are this week), where'd your nice picture of Bush go in your profile? Feeling alittle guilty after 9-11 about that?
