Altimeter setting

In the main menu the last few days my Altim. says 350' when I am on ground.  How do I set Altim to zero?

You dont. The altimeter read out is set to the ground level of your base. Right click the map if you're not seeing the various base altitudes.

OK but my alt. still reads 350 feet when I am sitting on the ground, I changed planes and still the same 350 feet.  Is it me or is the game glitching?

0' is sea level. The base you are sitting at is 350' above sea level.

hit escape to bring up the clip board map.

right click anywhere on the map and you will see a drop down menu appear.

from this menu you can select to show field elevation.

Your altimeter is reading the altitude above sea level that you are at. The field you are on is 350 ft above sea level.

Just as a sid enote. Are you sure its reading 350 ft and not 3500ft?

field elevations here are generally 0' ,  1,000' , 1,500' etc etc.

cheers,

As Hammer already said: The altmeter shows altitude ASL (above sea level) not alt AGL (above ground level).

ON the altmeter:
Long white needle: 100 feet
Short white needle: 1,000 feet
red indicator mark: 10,000 feet
