Possible 109g14 bug - tail bounce
« on: March 20, 2006, 08:38:57 PM »
Took a G14 up offline to see what changes there were, flew around, shot a few drones, made a pretty gentle landing, was on full brakes until I stopped completely, but it wasn't a harsh landing. After the final stop, the tail came down and instantly banged itself off (not even a bounce, just "Crash!!" and I had no tail).

EDIT: A similar post was made about 10 threads down, sorry for similar/duplicate report.

Did you download the patch?  the readme file says it fixed the tail breaking off on the 109.

Yep Krusty, .... take a look at my post about the G-14 ....
"And one of the finest aircraft I ever flew was the Macchi C.205. Oh, beautiful. And here you had the perfect combination of italian styling and german engineering .... it really was a delight to fly ... and we did tests on it and were most impressed." - Captain Eric Brown

Same here.

I also went from 2.06 to 2.071 directly.

There are no problems when you manage a good 3-point landing with very slight bounces, but if the speed is a bit high during landing, and the tail wheel 'lands down' after the plane comes to a stop, the rear section is suddenly destroyed.

This isn't a new bug.... had it happen a few times when the G-14 first came out.
