Inspired by the Bus Crash Thread...
If you think about it, how often do you see high-tech gadgets in general public areas? And if you do see them, how often do they actually work?
A couple years ago, a few super markets were putting calculators on the handles of their shopping carts... Most of these calculators were smashed or non-working within 2 months.
A couple years ago, a local gas company put a digital display of fuel cost and gallons pumped right on the nozzle head... These were removed after being repeatedly broken.
Ever notice how most in-store "test station" or "Try me" displays are broken?
For the same reasons the above are the way they are, there are no seat-belts in public busses. It would just be a matter of time before the vandals ruined them enough and the bus companies got tired of fixing them.
