Determined Perke Planes BY Community
« on: March 25, 2006, 02:29:25 PM »
The real determination as to what planes have advantages, and therefore, which planes should be perk planes, has to come from the community who fly these planes day in and day out.  I suggest a rolling Poll taken from Votes from the community as to which planes should be perked.  Members can vote each month and based on 3-6 months information, the perked planes can be changed every 3 or 6 months based on the votes.  Each member would get x number of planes to vote to be perked and only one set of 10 voted on each month.  Based on simple statistics, average, median and std deviation, HTC could then change perk planes.

Just a thought.

i like the idea. dunno how well it would work though. too many people would whine about the spit16, when actually, it doesnt deserve perking

it would be abused i think

I also see this as a way someone who loves a plane lobbying to keep it off the perk list and a plane they hate getting on it.  Another thing, you could see the bomber/GV guys want to perk a plane which is really hard on them or figher guys wanting one bomber or another on the list to help stop base porking.

Interesting idea though.

Perhaps you could also vote for planes you DONT want to see perked.
That way, if you are a Spit16 fan, you could vote to NOT perk it.  You then take the delta's  of planes voted to be perked from those that shouldnt be perked ,and from that list, the top ten deltas should represent close to a consensus.

Remember, each member only gets one vote. So their would have to be a collusion of people to "rig" the vote.  Or, HTC gets 70% of the vote and you give the community 30% of the vote.  Weighing of HTC to Community could be any combo of 100% of course.

Thought about it, actually had two long posts typed out.

Then rethinking before hitting submit and & erased both.

NOPE, perking is HTC Territory, not players. For many many reasons.

Granted I wish he'd mix it up a bit.

I can see perhaps a poll for all paying members. You get 1 vote for perking a currently unperked plane.  Whatever plane gets the most votes gets perked for the month. Wouldn't matter if it was spitfire 16, la7, or the lancaster.

Next month its perk price drops to half, and a new plane is added.
