Only for gun nuts
« on: April 03, 2006, 05:46:45 PM »
Greeting, everyone:

First, thanks to all of the people that gave input on my thread about recommendations for new gun purchase.  The information was very helpful to me.

Next, I wanted to let you all know what I had decided to purchase (and actually did purchase last Saturday.

After reading everything, looking around on the next and actually holding several of the recommended pistols, I ultimately chose the Springfield Armory XD 45 ACP.  Once I actually got my hand on it, I knew it was the right one for me.  It is very stout, easy to field strip, comes with a great set of accessories, and is quality built.  The pull on the slide is a little tough, but I sort of expected that considering the fat round that it fires :D

Anyway, thanks again for all the help!

Good choice, the XD45ACP is an excellent gun and I'm glad you gave it a consideration. My USP45 is still much more evil though. :)

I may have turned Grun onto the USP45, since I have one.

But hey, if it FEELS GOOD to YOU, that is the most important aspect.   We can recommend guns all day long, but many will not be "ergonomic enough" (do you want to have the magazine release, slide release, etc to be accessible without breaking grip or taking your finger off of the trigger).

Many <>'s, shoot safe and enjoy!
