If I try to run AH2, lately the following happens (There have been no hardware or s/ware changes since install):
Double click program
Screen goes black with hourglass icon
after 4 seconds screen goes completely white for about 7 seconds with lots of disk activity, then monitor turns off (yellow light, no input from video).
Keyboard and mouse are unresponsive, have to physically power off the machine to reboot.
Running WinXP SP2 on a Dell optiplex GX240 bios rev A3 with 1GB RAM and PNY NVidia Geforce 6600 AGP with 256M of memory, SoundMax integrated sound card. No memory resident programs, I even shut down VScan when I play to avoid issues.
Running AH2 at 1024x768x32 with medium grafix.
directX 9.0c is installed and tested and OK.
Driver is NVIDIA Certified driver version 7.7.7.7
Event Viewer shows no app errors or System Errors.
The weird thing is it is worst when the system is first booted. If I do a lot of other things, like write support requests on a website first, the problem doesn't happen as much. It is a big pain though and seems to have become worse since patch 2 was applied.
Any help or ideas would be most appreciated.
