Please, check the link below. Note that all the rules, order of battle and victory conditions are in one place. You might want to consider using a similar format.

When you do only 1 event, it is much easier to code a menu.  When you run 4 weekly events plus other special quarterly/monthly events, the menu coding gets a little tricky.  As it is the menu currently is too long for my preference and I don't have half the stuff there yet.  I know a lot of people despise the nested menus, but if I don't nest, the menu bar would be 10 screens long.

The rules for this scenario were all under 1 section on the menu.  The rules were broken down as displayed by the CM and design teams.  As we move forward with more content on the site, I will be open to constructive criticism to ensure the site is useful for the majority of the players.

I do think putting scenario rules into one html page will be useful, for three reasons.

First, it's easier just to open one html page and scroll around in it to find the things you are interested in, rather than looking at one page, figuring out something you're interested in, deciding which other page that might be in, opening that, being wrong, opening another, etc.

Second, it would be good to be able to open an html page of rules and print it all out in one shot.

Third, it is easier if the rules are all one html page to get all of the content and archive it or put it up on another web site.  I like to archive rule sets for past scenarios I've been in.  If the rules are in multiple pages, it multiplies the amount of work to do that.  Also, archiving the rules is something we should do in the scenario team so that we can have a library of scenarios and full rule sets to draw from easily in the many years to come.

Are we talking just the rules?  As the multiple pages had both rules and general information.  Brooke will be assisting with the next few write-ups, so the single page archiving requirements can be addressed by him.

For me, I'm just thinking of the rules -- the parts from "allied briefing" through "maps/intelligence" sections.

Since you're using Joomla this isn't that tough to pull off.

Use modules to put up a grid of menus which link out to the various event (types). Kind of a dashboard interface a'la GameSpot. You can then break down your content into cat's for each event and have an item in there for rules, schedule, etc. - then just have the module show the "N most recent" where "N" is how many pages you have in there ... now you can flip your menu by changing the category setting on a module, and you also retain a full hierarchical archive of everything.

Also there's components like eZine which allow for items from multiple sec/cat to be pulled together onto a page in an organized way without using modules. The same content organization would work in this case, only you'd be more laying out a page in magazine style.

But I know my input on events is now deemed "politically incorrect" so do it your way.
