I am part of a group of warbirds people that has not "come over" to AH.  The only reason is because AH doesnt run on our machines, so we have to wait for WWIIOL or WB3 to get an alternative to our thoroughly antiquated and obsolete, 2D sim, warbirds.

I went from AW (was playing since 87, callname "parsifal") to WB immediately.  I would have certainly done the same thing when AH came out, had I been able to.

Do you understand now?

P.S.  Given the level of childish abuse commonly seen on this board (AGW is even worse), I fully expect my simple statement to be met with some form of abuse from some members of this community. Claiming that better graphics equals less frame rate is not correct. It depends on the implementation of the graphics engine; better implementations can throw n more polys at the screen with equal frame rate.

Thinking that anything HT writes must be 'the better' implementation is wrong also. IMHO he is stuck in antics doing too many things in software. He has his own reasons for doing so how ever.

I must say I am not very educated how AH really does things this is just based on something I remember reading when discussions of T&L acceleration came out at the time of GeForce's introduction or there abouts.

Funked, I think you rock and all that, but you did make posts of a similar character regarding AH on AGW.  The topics might have been different, but I recall plenty of "if you don't like X in WB, then try AH 'cause it works"-type posts.  Granted, you don't do it anymore and you actually have an interest in both sims, but the impact was to help generate the confrontational WB vs AH bs that we're now dealing with.

Point being, the stupid catcalling on various boards by both sides should end...

What res are you running six-pak? And what is your frame rate? My machine wouldnt run worth a flip on a PII400, went to 550, then to 800, now I can run the higher res's with an acceptable frame rate. I've got a geforce card ordred, which really oughta help me out.

Although you can run slower machines in this game than a 400, thats about as slow as I'd wanna go, you might think of doubling your cpu, theyre cheap now, as well as your video cards. It might change your view of the game if you could see it through the eyes of a higher, smoother running resolution...

Not sure if you meant that you have a MAC, however if you have a PC, and your machine won't run AH, then it CERTAINLY won't run WBIII and WW2 Online from what I've heard...but that stands to be seen.

Snakeyes I might have said some stuff like that in a thread, but I sure didn't start any threads on AGW with stuff like that in the subject line.  That simply did not happen.

And yeah I am sick of that stuff too.  These flamewars don't benefit the players or the software companies or anybody.  I understand now that Six-Pk wasn't aware of the past BS that has gone on.  I would have reacted differently if I had known that.

Cabby, the voice of reason? Good God, what's next--dogs and cats living together?!    

Btw, you won't hear any Warbirds bashing from me. It was my first online sim love, and it will always be. Kind of like the way Sean Connery will always be the "real" James Bond to me, so will Warbirds v1.11r2 always be the "real" Warbirds.

To me, Warbirds actually got worse when they went to v2.0(except for the visuals), and has since degradaded into the realm of stagnation. You can bet I'll be there to give WBIII a shot when it comes out.

And if it weren't for iEN's non-exsistent customer service(at least in the billing dept), I'd probably have kept my WB account.
