No other artist even comes close to Mother Nature.  And the desert is her masterpiece.

Very cool pics!

mine aren't as good as yours Sandy, but this seems like a good place to post them.

I burned LOTS of gas for no reason today.

The place I wanted to get to was where these big trees are. They don't look big in the pic, but they are huge. We used to be able to drive down into the creek bed where they are, but I found the area to be sealed off now. It's pretty much an oasis in the desert. It's very cool, but now it's sealed off apparently.

My target area, from another angle.

I found a way into the area ( note the tree tops in the back), but  this area is restricted from even hiking in,  unless you make an oppointment. Oh well, I guess that's "progress". Anyway, I'm going to make an "apointment" and get down there next weekend.

Those look pretty good. All deserts are definitely not the same. Here's a couple more. One last one from Red Rock Canyon...

...and one from the inside of an abandoned talc mine.

oh... and you movie buffs might think that Red Rock Canyon is familiar, and you would be absolutely correct. IMDB listing:
http://imdb.com/List?locations=Red+Rock+Canyon+State+Park,+Cantil,+California,+USA Damnit... I can't correct the listing. BBS keeps inserting a
 tag.

Here are some pics from the Judean desert.

The oasis at En Gedi..

They say it was at this place that David cut the cloth of Shaul..

It`s called Vadi David now...looking back from there at the Dead Sea..
