Sounds like I should stick to the MA for a while. I've only been on AHII for a couple of months. I thought I was a bullet magnet in there, I can only imagine what it must be like in AvA. Some of the names you've mentioned (and some who have taken the time to reply to this post) I have heard of as very good pilots. Figure my survial time would be measured in quarts per hour.
Sorry, only room for one bullet magnet at a time, and currently that would be me.
Seriously, don't sweat getting shot down. It will happen to you a lot at first no matter if it is in the AvA or MA. You might as well make it in the AvA where there is a better opportunity to learn vs. a few opponents instead of constantly fighting the Hordes. Since just about everyone is on channel 200, go ahead and ask questions about what you could have done better. Unless they are still busy, I can't think of anyone in there who won't take the time to give you some honest feedback.
Just keep the proper attitude, relax and have fun, and you'll be blasting Platan0 out of the sky in no time. Honestly, he stinks.
(Platano and I are in the same squad, by the way, which is why I can make the above statement without too much fear of retribution)
