I thought the movie was very interesting. Having read the book twice, it was pretty effective and very inciteful as to the inner workings of the mind that produced it.
However, after watching it, I found myself compeltely averse to Capote himself. I mean Jeezus, has there ever been a man, or woman more self-centered?? I doubt it.
Odd, because while his personality didn't really come through in the book itself--a credit to his penmanship, the depiction of Truman Capote made him seem like the biggest Diva ever (and I don't use that term lightly, or, for that matter, ever).
It was the last book he ever published, and this made sense to me. His ego consumed him and he imploded.
Either way, Phillip Hoffman was brilliant.
