One time I found a UK knife enthusiast discussion board. Did you know that there's this subculture in the UK of knife freaks? Much like our gun freaks they talk about everything knife related, and ridiculously expensive custom knifes. "Who makes a better blade" or "I got 250 lbs to spend on a knife, which should I buy"  threads.

If these weirdos lived in the US they'd all be gun freaks, and vice versa.

As opposed to the wild knifes that ran free throughout the countryside stabbing hapless victims with impunity until the great knife roundup of 2001.  These days only the domesticated remanents remain but they resented the human dominance which resulted in the recent attempts at a knife final solution known as the dulling of Britan.  No one can predict the outcome of this great struggle but it seems the dulling process has gained great traction and British are collectively become duller and duller.  Will the sharp knifes regain their freedom?  Will Britain become a land of dullards?  Stay tuned folks!  The battle has yet to be decided!

someone hit on it...  the weapons will continue to evolve...   what needs to be done is to ban testosterone.   A chemical neutering (something your-0-peeans are getting good at) is what it needed.

With all the chemical neutering research out their it should be a snap to rid the tiny little island of testosterone.  

Think about it... how many women stab people?  

I don't think I ever go anywhere without a knife on me... they are really useful to me... like a big sharp fingernail...  I have never stabbed anyone.

I would venture to say that todays youth... your-0-peeans especially, reading 1984, would not find it a very interesting book....  no big deal...

Sussex 2010-  People gather any large sticks or rocks they may have in their yards and turn them in to the local police. They are careful to use only smiles when doing this as harsh words and frowns are illegal. There is talk of a PottyMouth Amnesty next year however.

So the politically bankrupt government who is trying to bolster it's image decides to try to enforce a stupid piece of legislation which has been on the books for years and largly ignored.  Yes the carrying of knives in public has been on the books for at least 20 years to my knowledge and yet I still have a Swiss Army knife and carry it routinely as do millions of other people.  And our US "allies" wade in on the UK population as a whole ....

Lets look a bit deeper eh ??

Knives handed in =68

Yep we Brits are just standing in line at the Police atation chanting "Must hand knife in .... must hand knife in" :rolleyes:

It's the principal of it. Don't you find that piece of legislation idiotic? If someone wants to hurt someone , they will do regardless of wether they possess a gun, knife or whatever.

The problem to me is, the more efficent weapons you take away, the more gruesome, violent, and bloody the crimes will be. Instead of a nice hole in someone's skull(gun), or a clean stab wound, you'll now have a bloody mass of goo where someone's head used to be after  it was bashed in with a brick, or a board or something.
That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety
