Wow... It turns out that you invested a whopping $50,000 in gold on "the worst single-day percentage decline for gold since January 1991."

Ouch. :)

Interesting that 11 of the top 12 have not made a transaction.

Proof that a penny saved is interest earned I guess.

a penny saved is a lot more than a penny earned
penny saved is tax free, maybe about $0.02, maybe more

It costs 1.23 cents to make a penny and 5.7 cents to make a nickle.

I think it's illegal, but when the change on my dresser accumulates to an unmanageable level, I pick out the quarters, hold up a grocery bag to the side of the dresser, and sweep all that crap into a bag and toss it out.

My rationale is that if you added up all those pennies and nickels, you couldn't even use it to cover the cost of having someone else deal with it.

So why should I? :D

Just take the bag to a Coinstar machine and dump it.

Hmm... We don't have those here. I just looked it up - it'd be nice.

I'm not sure it would even cover my gas or time to go that route, but at least I wouldn't be breaking any laws.

They really oughtta ditch the penny and the nickel.... Those things are a hassle more than anything. If retailers rounded everything up by a few cents I wouldn't lose any sleep.
