White phosphorous was used to make tracers, napalm was used in the Pacific, i've seen videos of F4U's dropping it but that's all the information I have.

I think that nappy-doo would be an interesting addition to the game. However, it occurs to me that it would drastically change much of the gameplay. For one thing, there really isn't a such thing as 'spreadable fire' as of now. Stuff explodes, burns, then goes out, smokes, stops smoking and finally regenerates. A patch of burning land that would set ablaze anything it came into contact with seems highly problematic. Just think about it, fire spreading from building to building, vehicle to vehicle would have to be modelled, and what would happen if you fire-bombed a spawn point? Would you just get kill after kill until the flames burned out? It would, I fear, lead to new tactics (such as saturating airfields with fire) that would add a whole new, potentially undesirable dynamic to the game. And what about CVs--would the damage just continue accumulating as long as the fire burned, eventually spreading to the AA stations and sinking the ship? If the nappy-doo is modeled accurately, it would have to possess all of these properties.

All in all, it would most certainly be the most complex, most contraversial damage modeling in the game.

Both, most likely.

napalm would make an interesting weapon in AH.... but for the other request in the thread title (B29).. dont think that would happen.. we have enough american bombers... we could use... say another german bomber... like the HE111.... maybe....... WP rocket could be usefull for marking targets for bombers or attackers... but then again, once you get close enough to a target an icon appears.. could help attackers while they are setting their attack approaches up...
