You won what?

Eagler and 1776,

You are both dopes, Bush LOST the poplular election. And Florida is in a recount because it was decided by less than three Thousand votes. I wouldn't go dancing in the streets just yet.

Eagler said on Gore winning the Electorial vote but losing the popular vote.

Eagler, let me amend that to read: Jewish African-American 70 year old single lesbian mother on welfare

I see this morning they are saying FL is less than 1000 votes diff for Bush over Gore. Democrats did a great job in scaring the seniors down here, rallying the Jewish Miami vote and carting the minorities into the polls. Even if Bush wins FL, I am ashamed that the count was so close both here in Florida and the country as a whole. To me it shows a real lack of morals in the populace.

Nice one Eagler.

So you have got a real positive view of the American people. Is that what repblicans mean when they say real americans? I think the one who is really lacking in morales looks at you in the mirror every morning.
If you are ashamed at all it should be with yourself.

Regretfully

Though we all have personal opinions on politics, when one resorts to personal attacks, then, you lose.  That's  all I have to say on the subject.

Oh, stop F4UDOA.

You left out the   in my post.

The characterization of the fictional "typical" democratic voter was a joke, although like all jokes, is based somewhat on real demographics. You can see these in political cartoons in the newspapers, along with characterizations of the typical Conservative voter. It's called satire

By the way, I don't see anything wrong at all with being Jewish, or being African-American, or being female, or being elderly, or being lesbian, or being a single mother or being on welfare.

If you were genuinely offended by this, I am sorry that you feel that way.

Thanks F4U DODO

I think it's too early to tell on the popular vote. Hauling the homeless in to vote counts too I guess.

Not turning to personal attacks, just describing a campaign strategy which is sad in the fact it almost (maybe it did) work.

Rip,

Isn't it a little late in game for the high road discussion? I have listened to racial commentary from two of the three people I have mentioned in this post. Perhaps 1776 does not deserve to be in the company of the others but if you choose to make such statements then you should stand by them. I did not put words in their mouths, I simply highlighted what was already out their. It is done everyday on these boards on subject matter that is not nearly as compelling.

F4UDOA

BTW, Gunthr. It is very difficult to differentiate between an insult and humor. Even when a wink or a smile is inserted. I made a choice to identify myself for who I am not because I enjoy telling jokes but because it gives perspective. I am not a liberal or politically correct, and do not claim not to use the same language in my everyday life. In fact I am probably the most offensive, vulger person on these boards. But knowing when to attack and when to defend in a virtual arena is not listed in the ROE. So in the spirit of a new President (who ever it is) lets move on.

I really felt that America was tired of the socialistic policies our nation is heading towards.  Change really seemed to be in the air and a new start toward the middle where all share in the freedom and prosperity was at hand!!

I am so disappointed we continue down the road toward limiting our freedoms.  My faith is at a low ebb.

Comrad F4UDOA, yours is the mind set of the majority of Americans.  You have won yet another battle, and as far as I am able to tell the war is also yours.

Soon, the US shall have been sufficiently social democratized for the real men of power, the Danish government, too move in and take control.

I said we would be back, and we will. We tried burning, raping and looting, and, while fun, it didn't turn out to be a long term solution.

Now we go easy. Not that we need for much longer.

Bush is our man too; we need him to drive the dollar down a bit.

Its never too late to reconcile differences.

In regards to racial commentary, point out their weakness to resort to such behavior and move on.

Throwing a bomb back over the fence just gets both parties involved killed (ie. hurling insults at one another).

Attack the candidates, not those who support them, all sides, please!

Rip,

You are right, it doesn't help. If there is one thing for sure this is a nation divided.

I think I will try to refrain from throwing rocks for a while. I'm sure regardless of the winner the next four years will have plenty of good debate topics.

If the Danish started camaigning using pictures of what their beaches looked like during holiday.. they'd win for sure.  It took me two hours to find my eyes... and 3 weeks using tape to keep them in my head so I didn't lose them again

But then.. Brazil and Australia could give you one hell of a run using that campaign strategy

I was thinking of your comments Eagler as I heard about the possible popular vote win for Gore.

Maybe its time for Proportional Representation in the States?

Heh, I'll hold you to that, Rip.  But I suggest we go to the Men's Club.  Much better service there than Hooters!
