I'd be suprised if no one has thought of this before, but I'm actually in game now and I don't have time to run a thorough search....

What if they added a simple in game notepad that save to a .txt file???  I've seen other games do this and it makes a big difference for keeping track of important info in game.  Radio channels, squad or player names, important bases, whatever would be needed is easily accessable both in game and out.

Now that I've said that, there might be some obscure function that does that already that I'm not aware of.  If so please put my foot in my mouth.  Otherwise, what do you all think?  I would certainly use it, handily at that.

Please devs, give us more of a notebook/clipboard feel.  Also, holding up the clipboard should really block out the sun glare.  Important both for realism and handy playability.

Let me know what you guys think!

Seems simple enough, the MOTD saves to .txt files already, the squad MOTD anyway, not sure about the ones HTC puts up.

Yeah it is easy already to just keep notes on an old fashioned piece of paper, but those get lost or end up needing transcription to a computer anyway.  I played Star Wars Galaxies for a couple years, and they has a /notepad command that brought up a simple text window and saved it to a .txt file.  It would be so much easier to keep track of small or large notes like this, instead of searching in vain for a slip of paper while trying to maintain formation in flight.    It would make the clipboard actually feel more like a real clipboard too.

I asked about this a while back. Apparently the clipboard intentionally lets the sun through. I still don't understand that decision, but it looks like it is here to stay.
