Plane Modeling

If someone was to model a plane in such a format as used in AH2 how would one go about doing it?  Say using multigen software?   Would all the movables be seperate to the plane. What about internals?  Gear movements?  Anyone involved in modeling anything for aces high?

HTC does all the plane modelling. I shudder to think what might happen if that were left to the players. Next thing ya know you'd have RV-8's  flyin around with Vulcan cannons. :lol

I don't really know either way whether or not HTC accepts player models.

Not disputing ya max just professing my ignorance :)

But fighterpuke if you are still interested in 3d aircraft modelling for art or for gaming a good starting point to get questions answered is this forum.

Everything that you see move in game is 3d animation.

Well Im asking because I have a background in 3d modeling.  Using cad software mind you. And plain ole curiousity about how the movable surfaces are drawn.  Do you just model the surfaces and move them from full deflection to zero or use angle increments? I want to know what makes the planes "tick" so to speak. Waffle you did some of the modeling of the interior of the B17 correct?

nope - just textures. Natedog did all the modelling for that.

BTW - Misread your first post FPuke, thought it was a rehash of your earlier post. Sorry if my first reply seemed 'abrasive' for being quick.

Basicly they are setup by the modleing program, Multgen calls them Degrees of freedom. Any way they amount to seting up axis of rotations, or translations, along with min- max's of movment.

Most folks use paint shop pro or photoshop. Any graphics editor other than MS paint will work.  If you can do it in ms paint...you're a better man than I. :)

Waffle ........Agree MS Paint is a **** IMHO
