Because you see, the idiot provides a vital psychosocial service for this community.
I feel very keenly that the idiot is a pan of the old village system, and as such has a vital role to play in a modern rural society, because you see there is this very real need in society for someone whom almost anyone can look down on and ridicule.
Revor, IMO, appears as though he takes idiotting seriously. He must be one of those that are up at six o'clock every morning working on special training equipment designed to keep him silly. And of course he takes great pride in his appearance.
Like the Hijacker, the troller, and the ever present whiner, Revor is an important figure in this community.
Besides, idiots make pretty good money. In fact, nowadays a really blithering idiot can make anything up to ten thousand pounds a year - if he's the head of some big industrial combine. But of course, the more old-fashioned idiot still refuses to take money.
What I'm trying to say is, it's ok, nay, it's good to be an idiot. Whether your a graduated idiot or self-taught, a village idiot or an urban idiot; whatever kind of an idiot you are, just keep up the good work.
