Tho I'm not usually this cynical I can't help but wonder; If Jon Benet been the child of poor blacks or white trash would the authorities still be looking for her killer almost ten years after the crime.

A bigger, more well-known city probably would not have still been throwing the resources at this investigation 10 years later. But this has been the biggest news story in Boulder probably ever. I am sure there was great pressure to get it solved.

A better question would be... if this were a poor ugly black girl.. Would the media have made anything at all of it when it happened much less ten years later?

More to the point... would you have bought any of the papers or watched the shows?

IF this cat did it, and IS convicted to prison. I give him 3 years tops before he is killed. When are criminals gonna learn, you do something to a child, yer marked.

To me, one of the underlying things about this case that sensationalized it from day one was the way the mother sexualized this little kid, dressing her to act like an adult woman in makeup, on stage in public.
