Vox Problems
« on: August 17, 2006, 10:42:02 PM »
Has anyone had any problems with vox besides me? My mic works just fine in Windows, but it only gives a "sick dog barking" sound when I try to use it in AH 2. I have not often had vox trouble before, so this is really ticking me off! Any input would be appreciated.

Have you checked your voice settings in the game?

Try changing the "Use Wave in" setting in OPTIONS > PREFERENCES > Voice.

Yes, I have checked all my voice settings, I have "wave in" checked. For whatever reason, the first time I had these problems was when they isssued the "new" version of this game, just before the convention. I then developed GPU problems, which had caused me to be absent from the game for a couple of months. Now that I have those issues dealt with, I would like to fix the vox, as typing while fighting does not lead to survival in the air. I have reloaded the game, changed all my settings, reset all vox settings, tested the hardware, recorded my voice in Windows voice recorder, and everything else I could think of. What have I missed?

If the "Wave in" was checked, try unchecking it.

Also, double check your firewall. Maybe its blocking AH and/or the ports needed for voice transmission.

Schatzi, Max - Thanks for replying. I don't know what the deal is, but I just ran the Windows hardware test for the umpteenth time.... and it FINALLY fixed whatever was wrong. I guess the vox gods finally took pity on me!  LOL Thanks again!
