Problem
« on: August 18, 2006, 07:33:22 PM »
This is my problem:

As you can see, there is no map, this = bad for navigating the TG, which this map is based on. what can i do to fix this?

the TE when it made map made sumthin that looked gay, a real light blue backgrounds (i'm assuming water) with very light grey cords on it, and when using this map in TE it showed my whole creation as being in square in square 10. which i think it is, but that can't be right? either way no terrain is shown which is wut i really need. the map runs fine offline, cept for no map.

Click on "make map". Take the resulting bmp file, convert it to 256colors and rename it to your terrain folder name and include it in the "texsrc" folder in your terrain's folder.

Cheers,

The 'make map' function in the TE uses the skins of your terrain to draw the clipboard map. If you have elevations on your terrain but haven't skinned them with other terrain type tiles, they'll show as water.

Check the zoom on your clip board map in the game. It looks to me like you've zoomed in on your CV. Zoom out all the way and see if your land shows up. Or you can post a pic of your clipboard map bmp. Otherwise, dunno.

First question, did you create the texsrc file 2nd did you make map in terrain editor 3rd if you've done one and two did you change the colour from 16 million to 256 and 4th you need to change the bmp aka your map to the terrains name and place in texsrc file then from TE build you should from this point have a clipboard map. hope this helps and feel free to contact me at FalconSS@mchsi.com if you need more info.

Could you make a copy of your terrain and send it to me? FalconSS@mchsi.com I'd have a better Idea by looking at entire folder.

Yoshimbo, it looks like you made your own little water design. Are you using the image that was generated by the AH TE "Make Map" feature? Second of all, to increase the visibility of the "lines" which are designated as "coordinates", in the "Make Map" Feature, there is an option for "Grid Alpha". Increase that number to make the grid brighter.

Yes, this is the image generated by the TE map make feature, and about the alpha, yeah i noticed that and fixed it now the numbers show much better but still no grid lines though i can live with that. i jsut need the stinking terrain to show, gaw dang, i think the best course of action would be to use the scaled down map, and to switch between AH and "paint" to attempt to make the map show terrain.

to falconSS i'll email u teh map as soon as i get out of school and home it'll be round 7:30 - 8:30 pm standard eastern time, provided i get hold of the intardnet
