Rescue Mission & Downned Pilots
« on: August 30, 2006, 02:41:07 PM »
I would like to see a way to be able to rescue downed pilots. Like allowing them to jump in a friendly GV to return to base or be able to steal an enemy airplane or GV and be able to get back to base.  This feature would be a great addition to the game.  What do you all think?:aok

I think if you click the search button and type "rescue" you'll find this has been requested before.

it would be pretty cool to have some sqd mates come and pick u up in a jeep if you are close to a base this would finally gibve the jeep a purpose. As for long range rescue missions i dont know what u could use. fighters are one seaters, and i dont think u could do it w/ a bomber, gvs have to drive a long ways, only thing we could use (if HT puts it in the game only for this purpose) is the helicopter

C-47.

Like in those old war movies, when the spy or whatever is silently extracted from behind german lines, with the dramatic kissing scene... oh! Lets ad kissing scenes!!!

when you find a downed pilot , land near him , tell him to tower out then join your plane. Then take him back;)

Naw, thats pointless, and only people who are in sqauds with commanders as retarded as me would actually do that... come to think of it...

"Squad night this week, we will practice having people join you, and ride along for 45 minutes back to base!"

No, I think there should be the option of getting rescued, which gets you more perks than ditching, but less than landing. This way, when people bail, the wont just .ef out.

It would a a different dimension....

I happen to enjoy flying the C-47 around, I run supps and try to land troops...

The other week I put a C-47 down on a carrier whist the base was being "softened up" got a lotta comments on vox like "How the hell did you spawn a goon on the CV" ect...

I for one would enjoy the challenge of landing on rough terrain to "Save" another pilot....

Whole missions can be created and big fights to save a friently pilot
with gvs or lysanders & fieselers storchs & katalinas if @ sea.

You only need to coad the pilot to jump in a gv or plane, like visitor or even driver.  He will jump positions as in a bomber or tank.

A lot of fun will be if he can kill a enemy driver steal his gv and return to
base with the enemy gv :)

Also imagine to have ditched with 8 kills 2 feet from the runway without anyone can do something about it.

We need a recover gv to pull the plane on the runway with a friend as driver, so we can land our kills.

this has been around the block a few times and still a good idea.  If you are within 1-2 hundred yards of a transport like c-47, m-3 or jeep you can join and not lose perks or something.

This would also work well with loading up squadmates and paratrooping into an enemy base which was another thread.

The German girocopters saw very little combat use, Britain used a few girocopters for recon in very small numbers and Sikorsky had a helicopter ready or almost ready at the very end of the war.
