Noob wanting to try Aces High
« on: September 12, 2006, 11:26:46 PM »
I'm a LONG time player of WWII Online and am soooo tired of the way things are going there, not to mention that I have a good machine and my fps are in the tank.

I've wanted to play a WWII flying game for a while and saw this game on the Military Channel.

My question is this...  Is there any similarity between this and WWIIOL?
Are squads dedicated to one side? e.g. British, German, etc
Also, can you multi-crew bombers?

Anyways, if any squad is looking for a complete newbie, shoot me an email.

Thanks!

Some squads are just one country. Others mix and match.

JUst jump in a see what its all about. Youll find you notch.

We have 2 squads. 71 and 71(R) Raf eagles. Be glad for you to fly with us if ya like. We use 171 chanel on VOX.

Look up RedTop or BatfinkV for info.

We are a fighter squad. Thats about it. So if you want to play win the war , We may not be what ya looking for.

The game is free to download and you can check it out in free "Head to Head" mode. Then you also get a free two weeks trial to check out the main areana and special events.

This should give you a pretty good idea of how it's like.

Enjoy,

I never flew WW2OL, but AFAIK theres not much similarity except in the names of the planes. AH flight model is a huge lot more accurate and realistic.

Are squads dedicated to one side? e.g. British, German, etc

On the Main Server (Main Arena) there are three countries (Bishop, Knight, Rook) and maps/planesets are NOT historically accurate. Like Redtop said, there are some squads that are dedicated to one side, others jumo fences at will. Also, some planes have "dedicated planeset" they fly exclusively or mainly. In the end, its all up to you and your personal preferences. I recommend you check a few sides/squads out before you commit yourself to one.

For historical matchups and terrains, check out the Axis vs Allied Arena and the Special Events Arena (during snapshots).

Also, can you multi-crew bombers?

Players can join another players plane. If it has gun positions, the "gunner-observer" can man those guns for the pilot. Only one person can join though

Anyways, if any squad is looking for a complete newbie, shoot me an email.

For help on how to work the game and setups as well as air combat tactics: http://www.netaces.org and the AH help file.

Infos on planes can be found on Sodas Aircraft page (its linked under community/useful links).

Hi,

We are 249 Sqn RAF "Gold Coast" and we have a few years in AH, WW2OL and Warbirds. Some members also fly in IL2.

We are a group of open-minded people of all ages - getting older - and we value teamplay more than flying skills...

We fly in Euro time because the majority of us are from Europe, mainly UK, although we have some members from the US and other countries.

We have two squad nights every week, Wednesday and Sunday, between 21:30 and 00:00 hours. We fly for Bishops in Main Arena - not very often - almost 100% Allied planes. We may be found in AvA arena most of the time, it's our favorite, flying Allied.

If you would like to have a go, we would be very pleased to take you in. After a short evaluation period you would be integrated. Your skills are not an issue. We will help you to feel confortable in AH.

You may just drop by one of these nights and contact one of us or e-mail us to 249raf_recruitement@sapo.pt and set a specific date.

Feel free to contact us.
