I would first calibrate/setup the mike in Windows, if it works there than follow the instructions for Voice Setup in AH:noid

select (in order)

start menu
control panel
sounds and audio devices
audio
microphone

turn the volume all the way up and see if that helps

I'd suggest you goto:

start
programs
accessories
entertainment
Click on record and see if your mic is recording at all.

Most fo the time that's the problem. Your mic might be muted. You can right click on the lil speaker onthe bottom right on the task bar and clci properties and look through there for advanced to make sure the mic isn't muted.

I'm at work with a computer that won't let users click on anything but our production stuff so I'm working off memory here. I shoot me an email if you don't get it figured out and we can go thruough it when I'm home...

Hope this helps.

I have the same problem.  My mike works in IL-2 using teamspeak at hyperlobby but no one can hear me in AH.  I can hear them fine.  I can record wav files just fine in windows.  A trainer worked with me and concluded that its probably because I have onboard audio instead of an audio card.  apparently some onboard audio works in the game and some do not.

Do you have an audio card?  If not you might have the same problem.

I havn't fixed it yet.  My first option is to see if there are new drivers for my integrated sound on my motherboard.   If there are none or they don't fix the problem I will probably by a Sound Blaster audio card.  I suspect audigy SE for $30 will do the job.  anything beyond that will probably be overkill since I'm not going for improved music sound.  The quality of the sound I have now is OK.   I don't think there is such a thing as a Michrophone card.

Any suggestions from hardwae experts out there will be welcomed.  I have a Dell XPS system.  My experience has been that upgrading Dell systems can be tricky because of proprietary features.  (Yes, I should have built a system but was too lazy.)

is this stand alone mic, or headset? if headset, make sure little mute switch on volume knob on the headset cord is not off.

I have partially fixed my problem.  I upgraded the drivers for my unboard sound and I can now hear myself in the game but the volume is low and the speech breaks up a lot.  When I test my microphone in windows it sounds much better. I've tried a stand alone mic and headset with the same results.  I've tried every level of hardware acceleration with no difference.  I checked and unchecked "Use Wave in" in the game with no difference.  I have varied the mic volume setting in the game. Anyone have any ideas?  I would hate to buy a sound card and not hear a difference.  I can hear everyone else and all the game sounds just finejust fine.
