Yoshimbo, if you have a router, or a personal network going, you can just upload the files to your laptop from your computer at home.

Just hook the two comps together using a CAT 5 cable and tranfer the files, usually you can upload 100.00 MB per Second using that technique.

Here is an easy way to do it:
Right-Click on "My Computer"
Go to: Properties
Go to: Network Identification (I'm on a win 2000, may not be correct)
Make sure your "Workgroup" is the same on both computers (Laptop and desktop).
If it isn't, change one of the two to match the other.
If you made changes you will need to restart your computer.

Now, open "My Network Places"
If it's an XP, there are sometimes "Shared" folders automatically placed inside the computer, if not, you will have to make one.

If you have to make one, start by opening "My Computer". Then open the "C:\" drive, usually labeled "Local Disk". Then, right click and go to "New" and click on "Folder" to add a new folder. Name the folder "Shared" and then click away from the folder to apply the name change.

Now, right-click on the folder and click on "Properties". Go to: Sharing (Once again, i'm on a Win 2000, it might be different) Now select "Share this folder".

Afterwards press "Apply" then "OK" and that should enable the folder to be shared on your network. Now, place all the terrain files inside that folder (Copy them, don't move them, to do this drag them in using the right mouse button, instead of the left.) Now using your laptop you should be able to open "My Network Places" and you should be able to see the folder named "Shared". If not, on the left click on "View Workgroup Computers". This opens a list of computers on your network, if your computer's name (The desktop, not the laptop) is mentioned, you know you have a network going.

Double-click on your computer's (Desktop, not laptop's) icon, it should ask for login information if you chose to have password security. Insert this and you should get to the list of shared folders, open the designated "Shared" folder and then copy (Drag it in using the right-mouse button, not left) all the files to the location of your choice on your laptop computer.

Just please don't submit it for hosting before it's done. Rushing a project turns up LOTS of bugs.

if anyone has their own ideas, share them!

A map of Los Angeles County, minus all the urban sprawl. Trying to capture actual cities and bombing Burbank would be a change.

Yoshimbo, it's a huge 512 x 512 map. Nothing for 8-Player. And duh, don't feel bad, I thought of quitting my GatofH project a lot of times because I got bored with it.
