The Bad Company Clan is  hereby withdrawing from all future FSO's and SEA events.

It's been great flying beside most of you all and I had a blast as a CM for the brief interlude that I was one.

Good luck with the FSO's and I hope they continue to grow in quality and participation.

Nef:Keep up the good work.

Sorry to hear you are throwing in the towel Creton.  Truely.

Alright,  Now whats really going on here?

First Daddog, now Creton, I mean is the CM team in such a culture of neglect that no one can stand to fix it?  Something clearly is going on behind the curtain that is chasing these fine volunteers away.  Whats the true story?

Everyone is leaving but wishing their best to the team and I'm sorry, but I think those of us in the audience deserve some explaination as to why some of the most talented and experienced people are leaving the event and the team.

PLEASE Explain!

I and many other squad leaders use this event to bring our squads together and it is important to all of us, but what I am seeing here gives me GRAVE concerns about where the community team is headed.

I think the people who participate in these events deserve better than a bunch of cryptic resignations.

OK WTF,,,kurt has a point... what is going on behind the cm curtain.

expose the wizard of ahOZ.

BURNOUT from FSO....I don't think so.

I live for it good or bad, and believe all squads involved live for it too.

Nothing in this entire game matches the intensity of FSO.

Or is this the begining of the end for squads overall.

because this is the last refuge of squads to truely work together with a plan in AH.

A very Sad day, hopefully no more to follow.

outlaw speaks the truth. discussion was had within the squad. votes were tallied. decision was made, and after the current FSO was over, daddog announced it.

there's nothing more to it than that.

OK, it's time to advertise and recruit whole squadrons.
Talk FSO up in the arenas.

Many squads get stuck at the AHevents FSO sign-up page.
One example:
If a pilot clicks the "Log-In" button, when he's NOT yet registered,  it sends him on a tangent that's very confusing to most.

Also, a squadron CO must know the AHEvents personal ID number of his XO and third party to register them for FSO emails.  Frequently they haven't registered yet, so they must do so to get their ID number.  Then advise the CO.

All these little obstacles add up and discourage continuing.

Time for a sales job.

For what its worth, Creton did NOT just up and resign from the CM team.  Just felt that needed saying.  He has been off the team for a while now.  A loss to the participants of AH and the CM team, but not a new one.

There is no dissention in the CM team that I know of (but they keep me locked in a dark room most times).  An AH player will often find that real life gets in the way of his fun, even more so when he is a CM and the demands on his time eat into playing time which may be in short supply to start with.  Dont blame them, its not an easy gig.

on a personal note:
The MAW used to be one of the larger FSO squads, ranging 12 - 16 pilots every frame.  That was before AH2.  We have been declining ever since and now sometimes field only our absolute minimum of 2 pilots.  Thats the nature of the beast I think.  Some squads grow, some dwindle, some join FSO, some resign, life and FSO goes on.  As much as I appreciate my squaddies and enjoy squad activities, I doubt I would have ever even joined a squad if not for wanting to get into FSO.  I would not have joined a squad who did not fly FSO.

Dont let a few dropouts bother you.  That is more an effect of the domino principle than anything.  One squad leaves, another has been considering leaving, sees the first one go and decides its a good time to go too.  They'll be missed, but we can only hope to see them return one day.

:rofl Love you Doobs but quit looking at me like that! Lewinsky went that a-way.

As a note of interest to some, the first couple of months I was a CM we went through half a dozen new CMs who left.  Once someone finds out how much work it is, a lot of people have to back away for one reason or another.  The ones who stay really like building worthwhile events and do the best they can with the time available.
Easy in-game again.

Don't let that 2005 on my board id fool ya, I've been active in FSO since 2002, Formerly with Fate squad.   What I'm talking about is high profile departures such as Creaton and DD... Not the normal comings and goings.

I'm not trying to whip up a conspiracy... I'm just shining a light on events and thinking "hey, what gives?"

My return to FSO was under the shadow of 'Time of Aces' and I have to say (with all due respect to 68KO, I know he worked hard on it) that was the most completely Charlie Foxtrot FSO I can remember in 4 years of playing... That followed by two high level departures left me thinking something might be amiss.

Orders out late, people not aware that they are the CiC, planesets that are out of comic books, and so on... This is not the FSO I remember from six months ago, much less four years ago...

I'm not bringing it up to thrash on folks, I really enjoy the event and I want it to go forward being the best thing you can do in AH... But so far, I find myself a little concerned.

Maybe some folks are gonna get their feathers ruffled about it, but really I'd rather piss off a CM or two than lose the event to diminished imagination....

And I guess mostly I want to be sure that those in the CM seats are aware that this is NOT what the squads want...  And while there may be a squad or two that think I'm wrong, I think most would agree.

I really hope no one thinks I'm disrespecting the work the CM staff does... But at the same time, I don't think anyone here should be afraid to stand up and criticise poor performance.  If the players don't do it, then the CM staff may never see their own error.  And a respectful complaint is in order based on what I have seen this month...

And a respectful complaint is what I hope you will take from this.  I just want a better event.  And if time in my life would allow, I'd volunteer... But that is not the case...

daddogs squad has flown FSO from the beginning.  They were (and still are) a large part of what FSO is all about (even if no longer active).  That is a big loss to FSO.  Perhaps they did not want to see thier participation dwindle to the level that the MAW's has (as an ongoing example).  I'm sure that members of that squad who still want to fly FSO will be finding guest slots with other squads.

Bad Co. iirc, has not been in FSO very long and seemed to have attendance issues for frame 2.  Maybe Creton decided he was not gonna put forth the extra effort to have a squad in FSO if they were not going to fly.  But, that was only the 1 time that I know of, so I may be barking up the wrong tree.

These are just guesses.  Who knows what someone from Oklahoma could be thinkin ;)  hehe just kiddin :)

I believe FSO will soon be back to being the fun event we have known.  I understand your concerns, I have concerns too.  One of my concerns is that there are complaints on the FSO forum.  Never doubt that the FSO CM Team and CM leadership keeps a close eye on these things and is constantly working toward repairs of any problems.  Player suggestions and ideas seem to be well considered also, so I'd say keep them coming.

I forgot my point now, so will quit typing.  Hope I answered a question or 2, if not, well....I still have not finished my 1st cup of coffee :p

Yeah, what they said. It probably looks suspicious from a distance, but I don't think it's anything more than bad timing.

Sure, the squads that have just left were headed by CMs, but if you look at the rosters, there are still plenty of Squad COs/CMs that are staying.

The decisions to leave FSO were made by the entire squads, and not by the CO/CM alone.

At the end of the day I'm not concerned with why they left... I'm concerned with the event, and as long as it moves forward in a positive way, then I'm all good.

Things have changed since I was more active back before january... Changed toward worse based on what I've seen so far.  But I'm first to admit that I've only been back a short time, so I'll cool my heels and hope this was just a glitch.

FSO is the highlight of my AH play time and I just want to be sure it stays that way.

I'll now rest my fingers until I have another opinion :noid
