Take a moment now to bow your head and honor your dearly beloved favorite products (may they rest in peace), those triumphs of commercialism that made your life a little better but inexplicably were discontinued by their manufacturers.

This list is only for products so functional that they conceivably could be marketable forever.  It is not for previous milestones like classic cars or aircraft that may still be collected or used but clearly have been superseded by better products.

Here's a start to the list:

Colours shirts by Julian Barnes
Faded color casual long sleeves, all seasons, 100% cotton Sri Lanka

Sandalwood Bath Gel by Crabtree & Evelyn
Intoxicating masculine mystery scent from antiquity

Winchester Model 94 30-30 carbine
     Classic caliber and handling

Fruitberry Bubble Gum
Treasure from a little grocery in the front of a house
Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity. (Seneca, 1st century AD, et al)
Practice random acts of kindness and senseless beauty. (Anne Herbert, 1982, Sausalito, CA)

Pepsi Blue.

Pepsi always does it.  They make a new good product.  But then they advertise it so heavily, that the product either sinks or floats.  They spend so much on it, it's always a tremendous success, or it explodes.
