Have build 2195, using Voodoo3 AGP

Mouse moves around edge of screen but not over the graphics. I also see what appears to be a mouse pointer frozen in one corner of the screen, even though the true mouse pointer will move as commanded.

Gazoo and Heater, what type of graphic cards do you have? It is interesting that Heater and I have the same build, but one has the problem and one doesn't.

Towd,

How do you think a new operating system gets ready for prime time? It takes a few curious (and patient) souls to make it happen. Besides, once we get it right, we'll be cruising effortlessly with Win2000 while you're rebooting your Win98 computer because of some memory issue.

You're absolutely right that one shouldn't jump right into Win2000, though, thinking it'll work just fine. I STRONGLY recommend that Win2000 be installed for dual-boot. To do this, you need to install win2000 on a different volume (drive letter). Use Partition magic to add another volume to your hard disk and then install Win2000 from scratch in the new volume, rather than over the top of Win98. It'll take more work to set up your applications again, but at least you can revert to Win98 as needed.

Let's press on.

Anyone out there successful in getting past the invisible mouse pointer problem? If so, I would be curious how AH works on Win2000.

So far noone has succeeded as far as I know. Hope someone will solve the problem 'cause I'll have to switch to it soon (as of now AH is the only thing that keeps me on Win98).

Hi all,

Just wanted to throw my name into the hat too.  Have Win2K and would like to try AH if the keyboard problem can be fixed.

Should be ready to go with W2K in the next version.

Great!

I, too, use Win2k as main OS (French build 2195), and I only keep Win98SE to play WB and AH. (For the moment, my joystick - a MS SW 3D Pro! - isn't Win2k compatible but I'm going to buy a new one just after WBCon...)

Add me to the W2K crowd. Lack of W2k support and lack of bandwidth are the main reasons that I haven't been flying online.

I am also disappointed that HTC seem to have forgotten previous problem posts. All the problems reported in this thread have been previously reported to HTC by myself and others. How much better it would have been if HTC had responded with a list of the reported W2k bugs and their fix status.

QTS,

If you think you can fix those problems faster, stop by the HTC offices in Grapevine, Texas I'm sure they would love the help.

These guys have done a wonderful job of fixing problems and adding new content in a timely manner.  Whining about your "personnel" problem is not going to get it done any faster.  I'm sure that every problem reported on this board is jotted down somewhere, assigned a priority and will get fixed as time and resources become available.

Well, I'd love to, but as I'm in the UK, that'd be a tad difficult, but I expect to be open for employment offers in August, possibly sooner (I'm a contractor and the IT Dept is being outsourced).

I am by trade a network admin, BOFH, and software support guy. Part of this involves problem tracking: it's not glamorous, but it's a life-saver, preventing developers from forgetting about bugs.

For reference, I'm currently on UKP 25/ US$40 (approx) an hour.

W2K support has not been a high priority for us.  Even with 1.03, we still won't officially support it just yet.
