Ammo prices
« on: October 15, 2006, 10:42:16 PM »
Everyone complains about gas prices, here's my gripe about ammo prices.
Not too long ago, I asked around for low prices on 7.62x39, and today after coming home from the range, I couldn't believe how ridiculous the prices are. I checked online, the lowest I could find (for copper jacket) was $199 a case (good LOrd thas espensive!), which is about 4 bucks per 20.
2 weeks ago, our range was selling at about 3.70. Good deal, right? Well, this week, they jumped it up to 6.70...........
Of course, this after I asked for 5 boxes & took my wallet out.

I guess 199 doesn't look so bad anymore.....

grrr

Supply is drying up.  All the stockpiles from the Soviet Union collapsing are being burned up.

They don't look to have too bad of prices.  .22LR is still much cheaper though.;)

Yup, surplus ammo on some calibers is drying up quickly, and the cost of ammo components is rising very fast.
