Hi,

The film viewer is dumping me back to the desktop. Dx7.0a installed, latest TNT drivers. Tried different video settings for both desktop and AH, reinstalled AH.

300 MHz Pentium-2
96 MB
440 FX motherboard
TNT graphics board

It will dump you if you try to view VERY old films.  (Like .40 vintage.)  Other than that I haven't had it happen to me.

Old films give me an 'invalid format' error. New films just dump me to the desktop.

I didn't experience a dump to desktop with that film, but it is incompatible with the current version of Aces High.

Can you point me to a film that is compatible with the latest AH release?

I seem to have that problem too, films I shot yesterday would sometimes open flawlessly and sometimes drop me back to the desktop. Running latest AH version but on Win2k..

I've had this happen too.  I'm not 100% sure, but I think this is how it goes:

1. Open a film
2. Fast forward it to the end
3. Try to open another film
4. Boom - CTD

I can't recall if this is exactly how it happens, but I will try to re-create it when I get home!

However, it seems to be happening when I try to open another film after <edit>fast forwarding</edit> the first to the end.

Viewing films recorded in different versions/terrains might have something to do with it.

Also, the film viewer doesn't show the terrain correctly.  Films that I took in the beta terrain now use the new terrain.  Its funny to see dogfights happen underground!
