Is the U.S. heading there?

Will the U.S. have such in the future?

Will it be for our own good?

makes me wonder.
It's been said we have three brains, one cobbled on top of the next. The stem is first, the reptilian brain; then the mammalian cerebellum; finally the over developed cerebral cortex.  They don't work together in awfully good harmony - hence ax murders, mobs, and socialism.

The only item in that article I see that IMO is a problem is this:

* Taps on telephones, e-mails and internet use that can screened for key words and phrases by British and US intelligence services.

Other than that, it all seems to relate to surveillance of our movement in public. I don't consider that an invasion of privacy at all.

I do.

Doesnt matter if Im doing nothing wrong.
None of anyones buisness where I am or where Im going or where I've been.

And untill Ive done something wrong. Or am suspected of doing so. It isnt the governments buisness either

After all. If Ive done nothing wrong. they have no reason to worry about me

The government can't protect us... if we wish them to tho they will be glad to take away all our freedoms and privacy in order to "help"

We can protect ourselves.   It should be the same penalties for a crook to assault or kill a person on the street as for doing it to a cop.   Every citizen should have his second amendment right to bear arms.   Using one in a crime should carry heavy penalties.

I would rather live in a world where my neigbors were armed and the people around me were than one where the government was armed with automatic weapons and cameras and no knock laws prevailed... where cameras and tape recorded our every word and movement and the police consisted of legions of black clad and masked ninjas that attacked private homes in the middle of the night with grenades after shooting the family pet.

Those are the two ways we can go...  there can be some balance but we allways will slide one way or the other.... one way leads to government opression and one to personal freedom and individualism.

Some feel that personal freedom is an evil thing and that black clad and masked ninjas in masks are a good thing....

I feel the oppossite.
